Instructions

Contest instructions

  • This is a 2525-question multiple-choice test. Each question has five options marked AA, BB, CC, DD, and EE. Only one option is correct.

  • SCORING: You receive 66 points for each correct answer, 1.51.5 points for each unanswered question, and 00 points for each incorrect answer.

  • Only pencils, pens, scratch paper, graph paper, rulers, a compass, protractors, and erasers are permitted. Use your contest device only to access this contest. Calculators, smartwatches, other computing devices, and outside assistance are prohibited. No problem requires a calculator.

  • Use scratch paper to show your work.

  • Figures are not necessarily drawn to scale.

  • Your timer starts when you click “Agree and start contest”. You have 7575 minutes, or until the contest closes at Sat, Nov 14, 2026, 12:00 p.m. PST, whichever comes first.

  • Before submitting, check your answers and save them to the server. Submitting ends your attempt and locks your answers.

Saving and submitting

Valid answers are saved automatically while you are connected. Wait for server confirmation before closing this page. In live grading, autosave backs up drafts; use Save all answers to server to submit them for grading. Automatic submission starts in the final 3 seconds so uploads can reach the server before the deadline. Save regularly; do not rely on the final upload if your connection is interrupted.

You can change answers until your time ends. The last answer saved on the server counts.

You can flag questions, navigate with Back and Next, and review all answers before submitting. Early submission sends device answers to the server and locks your answers.

You may use your account on multiple devices. Your timer and official answers are shared. If two devices edit the same answer, choose which version to keep when a conflict appears.

Scratch paper submission

Keep your scratch paper while working. After submitting your answers or when your personal timer expires, use Upload scratch work on the contest completion page to submit clear photos of your work.

Upload or replace photos within 24 hours of finishing, or before the overall contest closes, whichever is earlier. Finishing near closing time leaves little or no upload time. The completion page shows your exact upload deadline.

You can upload up to 10 JPEG, PNG, or WebP photos, with original files up to 25 MB each. Photos are compressed automatically; check that your handwriting remains readable. Include only contest work and crop out unrelated personal information. Only you and organizers can view the photos.

Activity recording

This contest records page activity for organizer review. See our Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab) for details.

Contest integrity

Follow the contest rules and use only permitted materials. Do not obtain unauthorized assistance or share contest questions or answers while the contest remains open.

Cheating, unauthorized assistance, or using multiple accounts to bypass contest restrictions may result in disqualification when organizer review finds strong evidence of a rule violation. Recorded page activity alone does not establish misconduct. Answer snapshots are stored redacted — a per-contest digest plus length and a short prefix — so reviewers compare attempts without reading exact keystrokes. See our Terms of Service (opens in a new tab) for the disqualification and review rules.

Your account and official results

You can participate without an account. Your score stays hidden and your result remains unofficial until you create an account or log in.

You have 24 hours after finishing to save your results. You can leave and return in the same browser to claim all eligible attempts. Keep this browser’s cookies so we can recognize your work.

Reopening instructions during the contest does not pause it.
